Don't blame us.

Judging by the feedback from some of the folks we run into, there's a rampant misconception that we are either:

a. the cause of

or

b. the solution to (or know the solution to)

this current financial mess that has so many of you feeling churlish. Well, you're wrong on the first part and our answer to the second part is the same as always: use your tax rebate checks, dwindling credit availability and stashed heirlooms to buy more of our stuff. For example, did you know that we have a hoodie for sale? We do. The European types were able to snatch a bunch up for cheap with their mighty currency but don't let that stop you. This 'discretionary consumer spending' that is soon to be so out of vogue is actually the 93 octane petro that keeps the engines of our economy rambling along. Do your part. You can even send us ideas about other things you'd like to buy from us. We don't know of many bands who are doing their own run of paper shredder. Would you buy this? Please let us know.

On an unrelated note - about a year ago, we ran a contest to celebrate the release of Black Madonna. We're proud to say that we've finally, FINALLY finished up with giving out most of the prizes. Had we known it would take this long, I don't know if we would have done it but a deal's a deal and we've done it. Most of the merch stuff went smooth as pie to get out. We ran into an awful, terrible nightmare in getting the duplicate of the final mixdown due to bad tape and a litany of problems with the tape machines. We're most happy, on the other hand, with the song we wrote for the Grand Prize winner. It's his now, but we'll still play it at shows. It's the one with 'butt rock' synth part beginning, as per his instructions. All that's left is for the guy from Philly to call us and let us know when he wants us to come down and play that free show. C'mon guy, don't leave us hanging.

Background band stuff these days - fixing amps, re-laying out the gear side of the studio, beginning to sketch out ideas for new songs. While you're waiting for something from us, go buy the [ new/first CD ] by our friends in Nonagon.

What do you think? A ribbon mic? I'm thinking a ribbon mic.
